Marge

Piano, keys, violin, ukulele, guitar, percussion, recorder and voice. From an early age she has been involved in music and singing. She has sung with many choirs including recording for the BBC and performing at the Queen Elisabeth Hall for the Russian ambassador with the Margaret Wharam choir. In recent years singing with Cantilena. She has also taken leading roles in pantomime.  She studied piano and violin and later voice and taught piano both privately and in schools for many years, producing many successful pupils. She accompanied Dawn Walters, the well published composer and vocalist,  performing at the Octagon in Yeovil and the Tacchi Morris Centre in Taunton. Taking up the ukulele in retirement, she has gone on to mentor a group of around 30 ukulele players and to perform with the highly successful Simply Uke who entertain across Somerset.


Maggie

Multi-purpose singer and instrumentalist on kazoo, flute, ukuleles and bass. Super cool star of festivals and perfectionist harmony nerd. Has played with celebrities such as Woo, Tone, Pie, AndyP, DonR, DaveS, KateS, MikeTW, Swoor and Dot


Lisa

Vocals, ukulele, harmonica, guitar, recorder, penny whistle, drums, kazoo, tambourine:  A songwriter and composer.  A regular performer at Glastonbury, she has also taken a wide variety of roles in theatrical productions, played, sung and acted on the radio, and appeared on television with the conductor Charles Hazlewood.  She featured in a film called Ukulele Baa Baa, for which she also wrote the score, and which received international acclaim.  Many different bands and choirs have performed her original material, and currently she is honoured to be part of MMAP, THE ROCKIN’ ANGELS and seven-piece ukulele band, now enjoying its seventh year of success SIMPLY UKE.


Sideshow Bob

A versatile and experienced musician with a passion for playing bass ukulele, saxophone, and clarinet, with a strong sense of rhythm, melody, and improvisation and he contributes his musical talent and expertise to local bands and performances. He has a deep understanding of musical theory and techniques. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, and adept at collaborating with bandmates and engaging with audiences. Passionate about music and lifelong learning, committed to continual growth and development as a musician. Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines effectively. Before retirement he taught science in schools, and fostered a love for learning and critical thinking skills. Provided mentorship and guidance as a house master, overseeing student well-being and fostering a supportive living environment.


Mr Burns

Vocals, ukulele, guitar, merlin, electronic wind instrument and kazoo.  Has performed at Glastonbury on a number of occasions playing original and cover songs, both as a solo performer and as contributor to several bands.  In his early days played electric guitar with Jeremy Spencer just as Jeremy joined the original line up of Fleetwood Mac.  In later years, whilst still actively performing,  he has provided opportunities for musicians of various abilities  to meet and develop their skills collaboratively.


Bart

Piano accordion, ukulele, banjolele, kazoo and vocals. He was brought up in a musical family and started his own musical journey on piano, later expanding into the accordion, joining various folk bands in Kent. He has played venues in Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Greece, Italy and Pakistan, where he accompanied an American traditional clog and square dance group led by world famous ex Bunny girl Norma Snickers. Filmed for Pakistan TV, the recording was sadly not broadcast for reasons of obscenity. He took up ukulele some years ago and joined Simply Uke in 2021, his first gig being a local WI Xmas party, and one of the most recent, also in Glastonbury, on the internationally acclaimed Sycamore Stage


Krusty

Ukulele, melodica, kazoo, bird whistles and other extraneous noises. Travelled extensively, (USA, Canada, Mexico, Greece, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Belgium,  Netherlands) all without an instrument, but with extraneous noises. Performed at Glastonbury on the Sycamore Stage, and other high profile venues throughout Somerset with the highly acclaimed band Simply Uke. Sang with Andre Rieu’s orchestra and choir in Maastricht, July 2022. Currently between agents, all offers considered.
